Josepha is the oldest child and only daughter of Evan and Morgana Caradoc. Evan was a Gryffindor when he attended Hogwarts. He began his schooling the same year as James Potter, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew. Back then he was a happier guy. Morgana had come to Hogwarts as a transfer student from Spain. She was sorted into Hufflepuff. At her first Yule Ball there - which was her 5th year she danced with Evan
and the rest is history. The couple dated steadily and married soon after Morgana realized she had a baby bump (their biggest secret).
Josepha was born to the couple when Morgana was 21 and Evan was 22 in 1981. Evan was working at the ministry as an auror. He was trained by Mad Eye Moody. Evan slowly became an angry, distant sort as he saw what a twisted world they were living in. In 1971 when Josepha was 16 Evan was off on a secret mission, and she and her brother were visiting their grandparents and Morgana was home alone. Morgana at the age of 37 was kidnapped by deatheaters and tortured under the cruciatus curse
until she went crazy. When the ministry was finally able to save her from her captors she was so loopy she has been at St. Mungos ever since.
When Josepha was 3 her brother Gavin was born. Josepha simply adored him as a baby. He was sweet and innocent then and she could dress him up. As he started getting older he became a pain in the butt. The two often quarrled as normal siblings often do. Josepha was always a girly girl. She loved doing her hair, makeup and going shopping. Josepha always had a love for animals. Her love for magical creatures in general grew as she took the class at Hogwarts. All through her time at Hogwarts she became friends with a dashing guy named Dorian Slytherin. He had 2 brothers that scared her to death, but he was nothing like them. He was sweet. When she was in her 4th year, and he was a 5th year they began dating on and off.
The couple split up for a few years after Hogwarts. Josepha was in Romania studying Dragons and Dorian was pursuing his dreams as a beater for the Falmouth Falcons. Dorian didn't propose to Josepha until she was 23. The couple had a hard time getting
pregant for years. Nothing was working. Finally Josepha was brave enough to go with Dorian into Knockturn Alley to try and find a potion there. The potion worked and at the age of 30 Josepha gave birth to their first child - Lyra. Sadly their daughter
wouldn't be able to enjoy magic as the rest of the family for she wasn't showing any inklings of magical tendencies. They later found out she is a squib.
When Josepha married Dorian, he was living in his childhood home of Slytherin Manor. Dorian was staying there because he was decided to be a man and care for his father who was often senile and often suffered from dillusions. Josepha was weary of living with the old man whom she firmly believed a deatheater. Whatever Dorian believe at the time he wouldn't discuss it, feeling that whatever his father had been in the past was moot since he was crazy now. Josepha was even more afraid when they had a squib daughter. She worried constantly that Salazaar would come and hurt their child. Every night for the first year she slept in Lyra's room.
Salazaar always stayed in his East Wing, never coming out. The potion Josepha took made her breed like a rabbit. It wasn't long before the couple had 7 kids. After Boa the couple's 4th child began showing signs of being a parselmouth, Salazaar began to
wander out more and more often. It worried her to see him trying to bond with her child. Dorian tried to calm her telling her it was normal for a grandfather to want to spend time with a grandchild. Josepha didn't like it one bit but trusted her husband. She noticed when Quinn also had the talent and Salazaar also took to her, it reiterated to her that he was picking favorites. As her children got older she could see that Boa and Quinn were being brain washed. They were angry children and more mischievious than the others. She confronted her husband about it and they fought. Josepha began casting protective charms all over the bedrooms so she wouldn't worry as much. She also made it mandatory for all the kids to live with her at Hogwarts since she taught there (she had been teaching there since she returned from Romania). Dorian hated that his wife felt so uncomfortable
but he didn't know what to do. The couple was on edge about the situation until Boa's first year at Hogwarts when Salazaar upped and disappeared.
When Lyra turned 11 they let her go to a boarding school for muggles in France. It so happens that Josepha's sister in-law Megan teaches dance class there so she knew her daughter would be safe. Megan though she is a wizard was born into a muggle family and still enjoys participating in the muggle world very much. When Mora turned 11 she had decided to apply to Beauxbaton. Josepha's niece Eva went to that wizard school since Gavin - her brother had moved to France where his wife grew up. The rest of Josepha's children decided to go to Hogwarts. Jack the first to go was sorted into Ravenclaw house which through the family in a loop. Jack, though felt right for Ravenclaw felt weird about being in that house when everyone expected him to be a Slytherin. Josepha related to him how her parents were from Hufflepuff and Gryffindor but she was a Slytherin. The rest of her children were Slytherins.
Getting her children through school were some difficult years. Lyra, Mora and Jack were all excellent students. The three of them were also very well behaved and did well with minding their manners and following the rules. Boa was a clever girl - no
about that but she had a need to defy authority at every turn. Josepha was constantly apologizing to her other professors for the trouble she'd make in her clases. Boa also got kidnapped by her grandfather and other deatheaters - forced to take on
the dark mark. Josepha was horrified and it hard for the family to recover from that. Boa had to go to trial and explain what happened and clear her name in the courts (against the ministry's lawyer Burton Lucas who is now the Minister of Magic) - though her name was never cleared to the wizarding community. From that time all snide remarks about Boa and the Slytherin family and connections with deatheaters were always appearing in the Daily Prophet and other newspapers. After Boa's trial, Josepha and Dorian took in Braeden Trafford as their foster child. He had become a friend of Boa's. His father and older siblings were Deatheaters and he didn't want to live that life. They took him under their wing and they love him as if he was really their own child.
Her children, all but Lyra (a squib) and Mora (a nervous girl) all were very good quidditch players. They all ended up on their house team and did very well. Boa was the youngest since Harry Potter to make it on a house team. Boa was also the youngest since Viktor Krum to make it into the pro leagues. Things in the Slytherin family never really calmed down... but when the excitement seemed to be at a low, the family was shocked when Quinn at age 14 decided to run off with Deatheaters.
Josepha thought she was in the twilight zone as she realized her daughter had let Deatheaters into Hogwarts to reak their havok. Quinn ran away, not to be caught for months. That night her son Seth was attacked by a werewolf and now too is one. When the ministry finally got Quinn they locked her up in Azkaban. Josepha, Dorian and their friends were in outrage that they'd lock up an underage wizard amongst killers and dementors. It took months to get Quinn through her trial. Again the family had to deal with Burton Lucas, luckily his son Cody Lucas was on their side and with his help and the witnesses of their friends Quinn avoided being locked away forever or suffering the dementor's kiss. Josepha did have to deal with her daughter being under house arrest until a few months ago when she finished her sentence. It was painful to watch her daughter go to school escorted by Aurors at her side. Seeing the glares and looks the other professors gave her, and the terror on the students faces made her feel like she had failed terribly as a parent.
Though the world seems to be in chaos as a new threat of deatheaters are taking over and the Minister of Magic - Burton Lucas is acting rashly from his paranois, Josepha hopes that her family will be able to get through these hard times. Josepha's husband works as the Head of the Dept of Magical Games and sports and owns the Falmouth Falcon team rather than playing for them. Her daughter Lyra owns a shop, Mora has been living and working in Ireland, Jack is married to his Hogwarts sweetheart Dorothy Prelwitz with 2 kids and 2 more on the way, Boa has finally settled down as well - married to Hunter Wood with 3 kids, Seth just got married to Jenn, Sol finally married his long time best friend and mother of his son Ethan, and Quinn is finally starting to deal with life - becoming more mature and trustworthy.
