Alana was sitting on the floor in one of the guest rooms. She was putting together a mobile that would eventually hang over the crib in the room. The crib was Ethan's at one time, but it was still in really good condition, so Alana decided to reuse it. She felt a little awkward being in the house, having not been there for a week or so. It was the same routine whenever her and sol got to fighting...they'd fight, Alana would go to her parents house with Ethan for a few days or a week, and then she'd come home. It'd be fine for a bit, and then the cycle would continue. She wished they could work things out, but talking seemed to be a hard concept for both of them. Alana was stubborn as hell, and bottled up her emotions until she got upset. and Sol...well, she didn't really know what his issue was.
Alana finished putting the mobile together, and attached it to the crib. She hung up some curtains, and started putting the room together. There wasn't much, she had just been picking up stuff here and there. She hadn't found out yet if it was going to be a boy or girl, the appointment was actually later that afternoon. She really was hoping for a girl, but she would be happy if it were another boy as well. She looked across the hall, noticing Ethan had finally fallen asleep for a nap, and decided that that would be a good idea herself. She grabbed the baby monitor and went down the hall to take a nap in the room her and sol shared. She set an alarm just in case so she didn't sleep through her appointment.

OOC: I will rp with sol too... just spicing things up a bit
Burton Lucas was trying to enforce his rules and laws. He wanted to rid the world of deatheaters and people who would dare disobey him. Burton wanted to supreme power. He had visions of a society so pure and orderly that utopia was nothing more than a dictatorship.
He couldn't search a home without a warrant but most people were too scared to object to letting him. They worried that by refusing him entrance with be another mark against them, making them seem guilty of crime when they were probably innocent. Burton and his guards or the spies as people called them privately were going to as many wizarding homes as they could, handing out fliers about how to detect a deatheater and what to do if they suspected someone. He also had 'voluntary' forms for people to fill out about their status of being a good citizen. Again people were afraid what would happen if they didn't turn their papers in.
The main purpose behind their visits were to be able to have a right to return based on seeing something suspicious, giving them warrant to search and arrest any closet deatheaters.
Burton knocked on the door. Anyone in the Slytherin family was an automatic hotlist for 'visits' with their family background and recent events. He and his 3 men waited for an answer. Burton was anxious to get in. He had done his research on the Slytherin family and didn't want any one of them to think they could sneak past him undetected.

Alana had awoken from her nap, having only slept for an hour or so. Ethan had wandered down while alana was sleeping and had found a coloring book, coloring it quietly at the other end of the couch. She watched Ethan color for a bit, and helped him finish his picture as she heard a knock on the door. "Huh, i wonder who's at the door?" Alana said, confused. They normally didn't have visitors, aside from family, and her family normally just walked in. It sometimes annoyed her, but whatever, it was family. "Coming," she called, hesitantly walking towards the door. She reached the door and opened it slowly, only to see Burton Lucas and 3 of his men on the other side. Why was he here? It baffled her. Ethan ran into the entryway, thinking it was a family member, but stopped when he saw that it wasn't. He stared at the men for a few moments, and then motioned to his mother that he wanted to be picked up.
"Um, Can I help you?" alana asked, confused, as she picked up Ethan, balancing him on her hip. Something seemed suspicious about this sudden visit from the ministry, Alana just couldn't put her finger on it. She wondered if it was one of those random visits she had heard about from various customers that came in to gwen's shop. But everyone she had talked to said it was just his officials that had shown up. None of them ever mentioned Burton being there too. She wondered what caused burton to tag along.

Burton was growing impatient waiting at the door. He huffed, sounding rather cranky. Burton was itching to get inside and see what he could discover about this family. He knew that Sol had a twin, that he was 6th child out of 7 in the family. Burton knew that his family line included both Salazaar Slytherin, Salazaar Slytherin IX, Voldermort, Lord Dante and his siblings included 2 who had been questioned for being deatheaters. Oh yes, Burton knew very well who Boa Slytherin and Quinn Slytherin were. They were next on his list.
Just as Burton's men were about ready to leave and go to the next place the door opened. It was Sol's new wife - Alana Slytherin, previously Alana Prelwitz. The troublemaker daughter of Headmistress Kristine Linford. Burton hated this girl's mother. She was always getting in the way of his plans. He had met this girl before when she was younger and had read a few things of her in the tabloids 'Headmistress troubled teen gives birth' - when she had been knocked up by Sol.
Burton spoke to her "Yes" he looked down at his clipboard pretending he had no clue who he was talking to "Mrs. Slytherin, how are you today" he and his men stepped inside the home "You don't mind that we come in do you? We just want to talk to you about deatheaters. We are concerned for everyone's safety. Do you mind if I take a seat?" he plopped himself on the couch and tapped it, beckoning her to sit beside him.

Alana was still a little confused as to why these people were here. "I'm fine," she said blankly, and the next thing she knew, burton and his men had pushed past her and entered the house. "I uh...guess you can come in," she said quietly. She knew it didn't really matter if she approved or not of burton and his men barging into her house, they did what they wanted. He asked if he could take a seat, and sat on the couch. Ethan had started fussing, and alana set him in the playpen. She felt uncomfortable that they were there. She didn't know what was going to go on, and that made her more anxious than anything. Burton had driven her mother crazy on more than on occasion, always prying into her personal life to try and mess with her professional life and career. He had tried on more than once occasion to oust her from her position as the headmistress of hogwarts.
Burton beckoned for Alana to sit on the couch next to him, and she shook her head. "I'm fine with standing," she said, noticing his men had taken up the chairs and loveseat that were in the room. She could see Ethan playing quietly in the playpen out of the corner of her eye. He had stopped fussing, which was good. She looked at the clock, hoping sol would be home soon so that he could go with her to the doctors in a couple hours. She couldn't remember if he had to work late that day or not, but she hoped he didn't.

Burton did not like when people didn't do as he wished. It throughly irritated him. He tried his best to hide the anger boiling up inside him. Burton put on his friendly face as he did when it was necessary to get things done. The problem with his friendly face was that it was almost creepy.
Burton stood up when she said she'd rather stand. His men followed suit. Burton walked over Alana "Alright then, we'll stand" he added "Mrs. Slytherin" his tone full of secret disdain. He motioned one of his men to come over to him. The man was holding Burton's brief case. The other men were walking around the room, looking at things on the walls or whatever they could see.
Burton had the man open his brief case. He then grabbed a handful of fliers, pamphlets and forms over to Alana "Mrs. Slytherin these are precautions for your safety and for the safety of the rest of the wizarding community. You will see there are fliers on how to spot a deatheater" he scratched his chin "Have you seen any suspicious activity lately? Anyone you know? In your family that might be acting oddly? If you are scared that is fine, whisper in my ear and no one will know you told me anything." He wanted Alana to confide in him, give him any details he'd need to lock up either her annoying mother or her any of her husband's siblings. They whole lot of them were trouble makers and in his way to achieving what he wanted - absolute submission of the wizarding community so that he could destroy Dante and be in charge of everyone. Burton figured, if anyone should be feared, it ought to be himself. Unlike his counter part - Dante, he was very political with his agenda.

Alana crossed her arms, feeling uncomfortable with Burton and his men being there. She was starting to get a bad feeling about things, and was definitely on her guard. She could hear the disdain in his voice when he spoke to her, but she shrugged it off. She was watching the other men who were walking around the room, looking at things. One of them bumped an endtable, nearly knocking over the lamp and picture frames that sat on it. "Could you not touch everything, please? i just cleaned, and i don't feel like having to redo everything," she said sharply, getting a little irritated with these people.
One of the men opened a briefcase, holding out some papers. Alana took the papers, and flipped through them, not really reading them. She heard him rambling on about something about how to spot deatheaters, or something like that. She really didn't know, she couldn't say she was paying full attention. Suddenly she heard him ask of she'd seen any suspicious activity, and she narrowed her eyes, looking at him suspiciously. What was he getting at? "No, i haven't seen anything," she said simply, still suspicious of his motives. If he was trying to get information out of her, it wasn't going to work. She knew most of his political agenda, he made it very public what he planned to do as the minister of magic. She didn't agree with it, and she wasn't going to be dragged into anything that could hurt her family.

Burton's men gave Alana a confused look. People usually just let them bustle through their homes afraid of being accused of hiding something, or treason or something worse. They momentarily paused and looked at Burton to see if they wished them to continue or to stop.
Burton gave them a look as if to say 'calm down' but then waved his arm to tell them to continue though. He then smiled at Alana "Don't worry Mrs. Slytherin. No need to get worked up. As I said before. We care about your safety. We are here because the Ministry truly cares about the people." When she said simply that she hadn't seen anything, he didn't buy it at all. How could she not have seen anything. He knew Alana's history. The ministry had an eye on her family for some time now. She was of interest when her mother became headmistress and was troublemaker student. She was of interest when her father was killed and her trouble making only increased. She was of interest when she gave birth to another heir of Slytherin - Ethan and out of wedlock at that. Burton knew very well that Alana had been in with the Slytherin family for a long time. She and her sister had spent endless hours in the Slytherin Manor and she claims to have seen nothing. He knew that Dorian and Josepha Slytherin were hiding some dark secrets and he would have them revealed. He also had a hunch that Kristine Linford didn't exactly rules and protocol as closely as she should. Burton wanted people to smoothly follow his orders. "Never saw any suspicious artifacts? Perhaps at your in-laws home?" there he was just going to say it. No harm in asking a simple question. Burton put on his best warm smile, trying to friendly her up.

Alana narrowed her eyes slightly, looking at burton. "I'm not getting worked up. I just think that a certain level of respect should be shown for other people's things. I wouldn't go into your house and knock over things, now would i?" she said, a hint of irritation in her voice. She heard him say that the ministry cared about people, and it took everything in her to keep from laughing. The ministry? care? ha! Alana knew it was a lie just as much as burton knew that it was a lie.
Alana gave burton a look of confusion when he started questioning her about having seen anything at slytherin manor. What was he getting at? "I already told you i haven't seen anything. Unlike other people, i don't feel the need to go prying through other peoples' homes," she said, her voice unchanging from before. Her facial expression remained in a neutral state, so if he was trying to read her emotions via body language, it wasn't quite going to work. Alana had a pretty good poker face when she wanted. Years of hiding shenanigans from her parents helped with that. She was definitely struggling to stay calm, knowing if she lost her cool, it would just fuel whatever little scheme burton had going. She could see through the fake smile he had on his face, and the more he smiled, the more it ticked her off. It was like he was playing a game with her, and she was bound and determined to beat him at his own game. She took a deep breath, and looked at Burton once more. "I think it's about time you leave. You already gave me the papers. There's really no other need to be here," she said, and shrugged.
