Elle was sitting in a booth in the Three Broomsticks, just having finished quidditch practice for the day. Since the announcement of the world cup, the team had been practicing nearly every day, in any weather condition, with the a day or two off throughout the week. The coach wanted them to be in the best shape possible to win the cup. Her hair was pulled back into a tight braid, and her goggles and gloves were sitting on the table next to her. She still had her practice uniform on, and it was smudged with dirt and grass from a botched hit to the bludger. She hadn't hit it straight, and the bludger shot down, hitting the tip of her broom. Elle hadn't been too far from the ground when it happened, but it still didn't stop her from hitting the ground and digging her shoulder into the grass that lined the bottom of the pitch. Her face was also streaked with dirt, and she was sure there was probably a few blades of grass still stuck in her hair. She looked more of a mess than she felt, in reality. She was used to being a tomboy and a fighter, so a little crash on her broom was nothing compared to what she could stand.
After a while, the waitress brought her food, fish and chips, one of her favorites. She also had a mug of butterbeer on the table. It was late in the afternoon, meaning the place was fairly empty...the lunch rush had left, but the dinner rush hadn't started. Elle always stopped in after practices. Most of the time it was later in the evening, but it was how elle unwound from her day. Her mother normally watched Elle's daughter, Olivia, when she was finished with preschool, so it gave elle a few minutes of peace before she had to go get her and take her home for the evening.

Haru had been working - endlessly it seemed on solving this alchemist greatest delight of trying to trace the source of a potion that contained an unidentifiable ingredient. As much as it was fun trying to solve such a puzzle it was a lot of work. Haru had been struggling for hours to find any clue as to what the ingredient was. He had grabbed a dozen or so written works by famous alchemists so that he could pour over them to continue in his search.
Haru had made a meeting to meet with a very old, well known alchemist by the name of Ronald Vanderbelt but he had to cancel last minute. Haru was hoping he would be able to give him some insight. The project he was working on was commissioned to him by the the Ministry and the Ministry was giving no slack to any one. The slightest things made them impatient and so he was on a race to get this problem solved.
Haru was hungry from a day's work. He had tried ordering fish and chips but apparently the woman at the next table over and ordered the last of the dish that The Three Broomsticks had. Instead he ordered a plate of pancakes and sausages. When he turned his head to get a glance at this lucky lady he realized he knew her face.
He walked over to her "Hey Elle Bellmont" he said but it sounded like more of a question as he found himself a bit confused by her appearance "You alright? Rough day at work I see?" he tried to hold in a chuckle "Do you mind if I sit with you?"

Elle looked over, hearing someone address her. "Yeah?" she said in french, not recognizing Haru at that moment. They had only really talked a couple of times, and she always seemed to forget who he was. "Oh! hi, uh...oh, what's your name..wait, i know it! Haru!" she said again, still speaking in french, and then stopped. She sometimes forgot to speak English instead of french, and it made conversations awkward at time. She heard him ask if she was alright, and nodded. "Yeah, I'm alright...kinda crashed my broom at practice," she said with a small chuckle, and looked up at him. "It's okay if you want to sit here, i don't mind," she added, gesturing to the open booth across from her. "I just finished practice, so i decided to get something to eat before i went to get Olivia," she explained as she picked up her goggles and gloves from the table, setting them with the rest of her stuff next to her. Her English was starting to improve, having to sit through so many interviews, and being forced to reply in English. She never understood why some of the magazines and newspapers just didn't have translators, it seemed like a simple enough solution to the issue. "Did you just get off work too?" she asked, attempting to make some kind of conversation. She sometimes felt like a schoolgirl with a crush when she was around haru, but she was too stubborn to actually admit it. It definitely lead to awkward conversation, as she had to keep herself from giggling like an idiot, or from staring at him for too long. She picked up a couple of the chips, nibbling on them while she waited for the food to cool a little.
